This year Martin High School Juniors and Brandon Elementary students partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters to pilot the first year of their mentoring program. We had eleven matches that were able to meet once a week for thirty minutes each visit.

This week's 2nd Senior Spotlight focuses on Michelle (Shelley) Awrey. Shelly has a 3.56 grade point average. Shelley has been a part of the High Honors Honor Roll since her freshman year. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was the Co-President her senior year.

Senior Spotlight

This week's 2nd Senior Spotlight focuses on Michelle (Shelley) Awrey. Shelly has a 3.56 grade point average. Shelley has been a part of the High Honors Honor Roll since her freshman year. She is a member of the National Honor Society and was the Co-President her senior year.

Shelley is also a Co-Editor of the Martin Clipper Yearbook. Outside of School Shelley is a member of the Martin Reformed Church Youth Group, and the Church Praise Team. Shelley has her future plans all planned out. After graduation she plans on attending Ferris State University, where she will Major in Dental Hygiene, and Minor in Spanish.

This week's 1st Senior Spotlight focuses on Katie Larson. Katie has a 3.9 grade point average. Katie has made the Honor Roll every semester of her high school career. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and has had perfect attendance for 3 years. Along with those honorable accomplishments, Katie has all participated in Volleyball for two years, and is the Co-Editor of the Martin Clipper Yearbook. Katie also attends the Early College Academy through Lake Michigan College at the Allegan Area Technical & Education Center.

As for Katie's future plans she seems to have her future all figured out. Katie will spend two years at Kalamazoo Valley Community College than transfer to Western Michigan University. After graduating from Western, she hopes to attend Graduate School at Michigan State University. Katie would like to major in either Human Resource Management or Industrial Organization Psychology.

Kindergarten Graduation will be on Friday, May 18th at 1:30pm in the Wyatt Center.

Kindergarten Registration has started for the 2012-2013 School Year. Children must be 5 years old by December 1, 2012.  Register during office hours from 8:00am-3:30pm.  Call the Elementary Office for more information, 672-7253
